More time for companies to transition to the SOTE agreement and its new pay system

Local Government and County Employers KT and the principal negotiating organisations have agreed on a time extension for companies to transition to the SOTE agreement and its new pay system. The extension will affect the payment of the local element. However, the delay will be compensated for, and as a Tehy member, you will not lose anything.

Local Government and County Employers KT and the principal negotiating organisations have agreed that the transition to the the collective agreement for the healthcare and social welfare sector (the SOTE agreement) will be postponed from the previously agreed date of 1 April 2026. This concerns companies that are not yet covered by the SOTE agreement.

The transitional period will also delay the payment of the local element agreed in the SOTE agreement of the KT company sector in spring 2025. The agreed local element of 2% will be postponed to be paid by 1 October 2026, instead of 1 November 2025.

Full compensation for the delay of the local element payment

The compensation will be a percentage-based allowance for the period of 1 November 2025–1 October 2026, following the same principle as agreed in the SOTE agreement. Read more about the basis for determining and calculating the allowance percentage.

The agreed time extension is linked to the introduction of the new pay system. It only concerns those companies that have not yet joined the SOTE agreement.
