Varpu Ojutkangas elected chairperson of Tehy’s student association for 2026

Tehy’s student association elected a new chairperson and board at its annual meeting on Saturday 22 November 2025.

Varpu Ojutkangas from Raahe was elected chairperson of the student association, while Kimmo Kukkapuro from Joensuu was elected vice-chairperson. Both chairs are studying to become paramedics at a university of applied sciences. 

The following were elected as members of the student association board 

  • Iida Jauho, nursing student (university of applied sciences)
  • Clarisse Akagera, public health nursing student (university of applied sciences)
  • Tero Pajunen, social services student (university of applied sciences)
  • Juuli Ärttö, occupational therapy student (university of applied sciences).

The new chairpersons and board will steer the activities of Tehy’s student association in 2026. The student association highlights the students’ perspective to support Tehy’s decision-making. The student association comments on and influences matters that concern students.
