Radiographer of the Year Nina Nieminen is an active developer and inspirer

The Society of Radiographers in Finland has chosen Nina Nieminen as Radiographer of the Year. Nieminen works at Päijät-Häme Central Hospital as the radiographer in charge of the angiography and hybrid operating rooms. She is also well-versed in the duties of a PACS technician.

Radiographer of the Year Nina Nieminen has had a long and varied career spanning 30 years. Nieminen has worked in almost all modalities of imaging. Her strengths include procedural work and emergency services work in particular.

Nieminen is well-known in her work community as an empathetic, warm and meticulous radiographer who is proud of her profession. She is described as a friendly powerhouse who cooperates well across professional and organisational boundaries. She is an active developer who takes on new challenges with enthusiasm and encourages others to join in.

Nieminen is an active member of the Board of the Päijät-Häme Radiographers’ Association. She currently serves as chair of the Board. She has also participated in international crisis and disaster relief operations in places such as Haiti and Bangladesh. Additionally, she has shared her knowledge by giving lectures at events such as Radiography Days.

Nina Nieminen was presented with the award at the Radiography Days held in Helsinki from 25 to 26 September 2025. The Society of Radiographers in Finland is a partnership organisation of Tehy.
