Hanna-Mari Bragge is Clinical Laboratory Scientist of the Year 2025

The Association of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists in Finland (Suomen Bioanalyytikot ry) has selected Hanna-Mari Bragge from Pori as Biomedical Laboratory Scientist of the Year 2025.

Biomedical Laboratory Scientist of the Year Hanna-Mari Bragge works at the Satasairaala Hospital emergency laboratory of the Satakunta wellbeing services county as a specialist in comprehensive analytics and sampling. Bragge has a master’s degree in biomedical laboratory science.

Biomedical Laboratory Scientist of the Year Hanna-Mari Bragge was nominated by a colleague. Bragge is particularly praised for her strong sense of collegiality. She is always there to help and support her colleagues, her supervisors and the representatives of the stakeholders in the work community.

Hanna-Mari Bragge is particularly interested in developing her own and others' skills based on research data. In addition to her basic studies, she has also completed a master’s degree and in-service training, including training as a mentor. In addition to her laboratory work, Bragge also works as a clinical specialist. In this role, she has been able to develop not only the operations of her own unit but also those of the laboratories of the wellbeing services county more widely. Through her work, Bragge has been able to increase the visibility and recognition of the work and expertise of biomedical laboratory scientists.

Hanna-Mari Bragge is active in the local Satakunta association for biomedical laboratory scientists, Satakunnan Bioanalyytikot ry. Bragge is also heavily involved in the very active group promoting wellbeing at work in the emergency laboratory at Satasairaala Hospital, Virikekanat.

The Biomedical Laboratory Scientist of the Year is selected annually on the basis of applications. Nominations can be submitted by members of the Association of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists in Finland, work communities, background communities or local associations. The selection is made by the board of the association on the basis of the applications. The recipient of the award in 2025 was announced on 3 October 2025 at the Laboratory Medicine Days 2025 event in Helsinki.
